Meet The Team

Sparky & Katie Pond

Our story begins in Northern California, where Sparky and I first met on the first day of 7th grade. What started as a childhood friendship grew into something much deeper. Life took us down separate paths after high school—me (Katie) heading south to Santa Cruz, while Sparky stayed in Sacramento. But destiny had a plan for us.

In 2002, our paths crossed again when I returned to Sacramento. This time, we were older, wiser, and instantly inseparable. At the time, I was already working on my real estate license, and as we began officially dating, it became clear that real estate wasn’t just my passion—it was something we wanted to pursue together. Soon after, Sparky earned his license, and in 2004, The Pond Team was born.

For years, we thrived in Northern California real estate, working with Centex Homes Realty and then RE/MAX. However, after the birth of our son, we started dreaming of a life by the beach. In 2012, we took a leap of faith, uprooting our family and successful business to move to Southern California and plant roots in Encinitas. With guidance from our incredible broker, Mike Evans at Sea Coast Exclusive Properties, we started fresh on the iconic 101 in Encinitas, blending our deep experience with the coastal lifestyle we always dreamed of.
